HOW TO MAKE YOUR POSTS INTERESTING

Thoughts On Boring Blogs

There’s one big problem with a huge amount of the content on the web right now, and that fact is that most of the stuff being put out is not interesting. Unfortunately, a huge proportion of the social media posts, blog posts, articles and even videos that are on most websites are simply boring. They tell us generic things we already know, do it in a style that’s not engaging, and have posted the dialogue with dull, descriptive titles.

Think about how many articles you’ve read in your lifetime with titles like:
How to Get Great Abs!
Or
Top Ten SEO Mistakes

Probably hundreds right? And by now that kind of thing is just old, tired and boring.

If you want to stand out and be heard, then you must make sure that what you’re putting out is interesting, different and unique. Here’s how you do that.

Come Up With Something Fresh

If you look at a flock of sheep, which one of those animals always stands out? The black one right? You need to be that critter when it comes to the chorus of content on Facebook and Twitter. You can’t just post the same articles and topics that everyone else is posting or you’ll just blend into the crowd. Instead, you must offer something that people can’t get anywhere else and is completely unique.

How do you do that? One option involves the process of creating something entirely new by combining different subjects, or by giving your own personal take on a popular area of interest.

Another option is incorporating the latest and most exclusive stories you can find. That might mean reading scientific reports or scouring press releases. It takes more work, but the end result is something that’s much better than run of the mill dialogue and repetitive copy.

Tell Stories

Once you have the subject matter in hand, the next consideration is the delivery. One technique that never gets old is telling stories. If you can report on the same thing as everyone else, but give your version a narrative hook – a beginning, middle and end with a protagonist involved, then it will be somewhat more compelling and so much more enjoyable to read.

Think about the last time you read through a good book. It often feels as though you’ve come out of a trance, or even a different moment in time when you finish the whole thing or just complete a chapter for the night! Or how about when you watch a movie and completely lose track of time?

With a great story, you can have the exact same impact on your readers. And then they’ll be hooked!

I am requesting that my readers click on the links provided and download a sample read of each book and give a review on Amazon. You will have free access to the first four chapters of each book. My hope is that you will like the story lines enough to obtain either an eBook version or a paperback copy that you can put on your bookshelf as a masterpiece when you are done. FATE STALKS A HERO I: RESURGENCE, FATE STALKS A HERO II:THE FIJI FULCRUM, and THE SAGA OF HERACLES PENOIT. I will be giving excerpts on these works in upcoming blogs to familiarize you the reader with exciting details about the contents of each one.
