ODE TO THE CREATOR

The Heavens

I gazed into the heavens so

One cold and starry night

As the Creator let me now

Behold this wondrous sight

Specks of distant orbs and fire

As far as I could see

Waiting there thus to be seen

By a humble one like me

The moon was full and spread it’s glow

On waters in the bay

A beacon spread out in the dark

To guide me my way

The trees around me stretch their limbs

And point towards the sky

Reaching for eternity

As I walk on by

A distant owl begins to hoot

And surely let’s me know

Unseen life is moving near

As eyes begin to glow

The Tempest

A breeze moves in and stirs the air

His Spirit beckons me

Then it grows into a gale

And churns the angry sea

Clouds appear and shade the stars

They billow to and fro

I fear this now to see His power

And watch the tempest grow

The lightning comes in bolts of white

As now I seek to flee

Thunder rumbles all about

There falls a nearby tree

The rain drops flow and pelt the earth

The fury lasts all night

I wonder to survive the storm

And perish from His might

A nearby shelter hides my self

Protects me while I wait

The ending can’t come soon enough

To seal my pending fate

The Calm

Then it stops and storm clouds fade

The blue I start to see

The Son-light peeks right through the trees

And now He speaks to me

He teaches me a simple fact

In this blink of time

I’m just a lonely dot in space

And He is still sublime

I find my self in worship

Through sudden words and deeds

Bowed down in fervent reverence

To honor all His creeds

The storms of life will come and go

The Devil foists despair

But God prevails and covers me

With shelters of his care

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.        (Hebrews 11:3)

Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. (Isaiah 40:28)
